About Dragonflys

Crack open the darkness to let your light shine through.

Welcome to Dragonflys

With over 16 years of experience as a physiotherapist, I am committed to continually expanding my skills and knowledge to provide each of my clients with a holistic and personalised approach to treatment. I focus not only on their specific conditions but also on their overall lifestyle, striving to create positive, tailored pathways towards improved movement, reduced pain, and restored confidence. This approach results in enhanced physical and mental well-being, ultimately helping my clients achieve a balanced and fulfilling quality of life.

After qualifying as a fully trained physiotherapist in 2007, I embarked on my professional journey with the NHS, gaining invaluable experience through nine years of rotations across a wide range of disciplines. These included outpatient services, ICU, neurology, stroke rehabilitation, transplant care, cardiothoracic and respiratory medicine, elderly care, community settings focused on hospital discharge facilitation, and community orthopaedics. This diverse exposure gave me a solid foundation in physiotherapy and deepened my understanding of how to approach complex conditions from multiple perspectives.

Building on this foundation, I transitioned to a charity setting, where I specialised in multiple sclerosis (MS). This role allowed me to deliver a truly holistic service, incorporating treatments such as acupuncture and myofascial release. The experience reinforced my belief in treating the whole person, not just the condition, and offering care that supports long-term wellbeing.

What sets my approach apart is my focus on the root causes of each client’s condition, considering all the physical and emotional factors that may contribute. I ensure that appointments are never rushed, allowing ample time for discussion and exploration of treatment options. I foster an environment free from judgement, understanding that every client has unique challenges and anxieties. Where possible, I encourage self-management, helping clients feel less constrained by their conditions so they can live fuller, more active lives.

My qualifications reflect a dedication to professional growth and include a pre-registration MSc, AACP certification in acupuncture, a sports massage diploma, Bobath Level 1 training, and a sports taping qualification. I am currently working towards a diploma in myofascial release, further enriching my ability to offer comprehensive care.

While I deeply enjoy my role as a physiotherapist, I also lead an active and busy life outside of work with my two young children and a love for the outdoors. Whether camping, wild swimming, horse riding, cycling, practising yoga, or spending time with family and friends, these activities are my way of staying grounded and re-energised.

The dragonfly symbolises change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realisation.

The change has its source in mental and emotional maturity and understanding the deeper meaning of life.
